[Seems that the two of them have the same idea. Fynn, against all better options, decided to make his way back towards the Convention Center in hopes of unearthing any clues he could possibly find. While he's been doing his part to figure out the mystery behind the sudden monster attack, Fynn still doesn't have much of a clue as to what's happening. He knows Retrospec is involved in some manner but he can't figure out why would they reap such chaos in Recollé.
Is this truly all just an experiment? Maybe but Fynn isn't too certain of that anymore.]
[He cautiously weaves his way through the rubble and debris in plain clothes this time around dressed quite causually in a bright blue jacket and a pair of worn out jeans. Fynn hasn't worn his signature uniform in a few days now. While the cop uniform is made out of strudier stuff, Fynn didn't feel like wearing it. For some odd reason, he feels less like an "officer of the law" these days with half of his colleagues at the station ignoring the panic and terror. Only a handful of cops are Retrospec users, the rest aren't and they've been acting far too strangely for his liking lately. While law enforcement does answer certain calls, they seem utterly content in ignoring the haphazard state Recollé is in currently.
This angers Fynn, of course. It angers him enough to forsake the uniform but still don his badge.]
Huh? [Fynn comes to a slow halt once he spots the siholuette of someone further ahead.] Is that...a woman?
[His eyes narrows some. Just why is that woman wandering around here? Doesn't she see those overgrown gargoyle-like monsters ahead?! They're going to notice her any second now--]
[Honestly, Katherine's made better choices today than she had the last day of the convention: rather than a sleeveless dress as she'd had then, she's wearing running pants and sneakers, hair tied braided back from her face so that it won't get in her way as she moves.
At Fynn's shout, she whips around, and if looks could kill Fynn would be a dead fellow.]
Shhh!
[But oh, nope, it's too late. The monsters have seen the both of them now, and they're on the move. Great. Katherine groans in frustration, before beginning to sprint back his way. He alerted them, he can help her deal with them!]
I could've gotten past them if you hadn't given me away!
[He was only trying to help, okay?! This is suppose to be Fynn helping for the most part. Whether or not he's actually helpful is up for debate but he's jumping into the fight guns blazing.]
Cut the bull, lady! These creeps would've smelled you if you gotten any closer.
[The cop thankfully can backup his bluster since he managed to nail one of the fiends in the head with fatal headshot. That monster falls down in a heap of pixels before fading away before Fynn takes aim at the second one. He's quick on the draw and even quicker when in combat. This would be all mildly impressive if he didn't place the woman in danger in the first damn place.]
[Whether it's his fault or hers, it doesn't make Fynn's sharpshooting any less impressive, honestly. Katherine doesn't see the first one go down, but when she reaches him, turning around to check on the monsters, she's surprised to see one less and a second about to go down, if Fynn's stance is any indication.]
At least you weren't all bark and no bite!
[She's definitely not a fighter, but Kath brings the blade up in front of her in case that third creature gets close to them. She can... probably do this, right? It can't be that hard, not after the dragon she's run into a couple times...]
[The officer rolls his eyes at her comment and keeps quiet. He normally gets like this when focused. However, it's not like he doesn't appreciate the vote of confidence there. If there's one thing Fynn is quite proud about his marksmanship. There's a reason why he managed to win 'Second Place' during the National Marksmanship Competition a few years back. He probably should sign up again and test his skill now.]
What are you doing with that? [He snaps once he sees the woman bring up that paper blade thing.] Who you foolin' with that? That's not a weapon---
[Fynn trails off quickly and shoots once the monster rushes towards them and tries to swing at Katherine. He pushes the woman out of the way before successfully dodging in turn. Much like anyone would expect of law enforcement, he's putting her life ahead of his.]
I hope you have some sort of special powers, Katherine!
:O!!! Yaaas!
